Setting up your own counselling private practice can be exciting but it can also be overwhelming in knowing where to start.

The day will equip you with a step by step comprehensive plan of what you need to put in place before you start seeing clients. It is a practical workshop which includes a lot of tips on how to make the process manageable.

We will cover information from marketing & advertising, pricing strategy, taking payment, record keeping, finding and keeping clients, referrals, finances, premises, policies and choosing a niche/special interest.

It’s delivered in an engaging way with lots of opportunity for questions so you can make it work for you. The small group format allows Caroline to tailor the course to the needs of each member of the course. It also offers you an opportunity to meet and network with other therapists who are in the same situation.

By the end of the day, you should have all the information you need to start making your private practice plans a reality.

Caroline Hudson

Caroline is a BACP senior accredited counsellor and UKCP registered psychotherapist with over 20 years experience as a qualified counsellor. Having set up therapy practices twice she is enthusiastic about helping others to do the same.  She worked for many years in a young people's counselling service in York, before setting up an initial private practice 10 years ago from a room in a G.P.'s surgery in Beverley.

Since then she has gradually built up her practice and established Beverley Counselling & Psychotherapy in 2018 as a multi therapist practice. Seven other therapists now work from this renovated therapy centre, offering an array of therapeutic approaches to clients of all ages, alongside clinical supervision and CPD workshops.

She is also a clinical supervisor working with local counsellors and counsellors in training.

Caroline believes in the necessity of a sense of humour, particularly when grappling with spreadsheets.
